Background
Lettuce is the backbone of the spring and fall kitchen garden — sow every two weeks from March through August and you'll have salad from April to October. Metta mix combines multiple types for varied texture and colour. In summer, shift sowings to late afternoon shade and use bolt-resistant varieties; even then, expect a gap at peak heat. Resume reliable sowings by late July for the fall flush.
