Native plants of the Tropical Dry Forests

Seasonally dry tropical forest along Mexico's Pacific slope, the Balsas basin and the Yucatán Peninsula.

An ecoregion groups land by climate, soil and the plants and animals that live there, so its keystone plants are the same from one end to the other, whatever the hardiness zone. The field guide doesn't yet carry plants with a native range here.

Keystone plants

Keystone data pending. The National Wildlife Federation hasn't published a ranking for this region, so there's no keystone list or web here yet. Plants native to it still show in the field guide, and a ranking built from the Narango–Tallamy host data is on the list.

Keystone rankings from the National Wildlife Federation, based on caterpillar host research by Doug Tallamy's lab at the University of Delaware (Narango, Tallamy & Shropshire, 2020) and specialist-bee research by Jarrod Fowler. Ecoregion boundaries: Commission for Environmental Cooperation, Level I.
